Meet Lieutenant — Reporting for Snuggle Duty! Personality: Couch-Cuddling Charmer
Lieutenant — known to her friends as Lieu — is a boxer mix with a shining heart. She arrived a bit on the skinny side, but with her love of treats (and her impressive puppy-eye skills), she’s happily working her way back to a healthy weight. Lieu enjoys her walks, but nothing tops her absolute favorite thing in the world: people! She’s an expert snuggler, a champion butt-wiggler, and a pro at delivering gentle kisses. Whether you’re relaxing on the couch or headed out for a stroll, she’s ready to be right by your side. She walks well on leash, and she’s already mastered sit — a polite queen!
Fun Fact: When she gets excited, Lieu does a full-body wiggle that starts at her shoulders and ends at her tail, it’s impossible not to smile!
Lieu spent some time in a foster home and this is what her foster parent had to say: Lieu is a very spry girl for her age. She loves going on walks and enjoys a good car ride. She is fully house trained and has learned to use a doggie door. Lieu isn`t a big barker, sleeps well in a crate at night and has done well with cats! Her most favorite thing of all though, sitting beside her person on the couch, just hanging out.

AWD is always in need of foster homes for our pets who need time to grow, recovery from illness or injury or in need of a break from the shelter. Foster homes increase our capacity to provide services to homeless pets in our community. If you would like to donate toys, towels and milk-bones are always in need. Volunteer opportunities are also available at our shelters.
