Chico is one of four siblings recently surrendered to the Aloha ʻĪlio Rescue ʻohana. When they arrived, they were scared, stressed, and completely unsure of the world around them. They relied heavily on one another for comfort and had little experience socializing with new people.
With time, patience, and gentle handling, Chico has started to feel safe. He’s now allowing us to pick him up and is slowly opening his heart, one quiet moment at a time. 🤍
Chico can be a bit standoffish when you first meet him. He likes to observe, take things in, and decide for himself when he’s ready. But once that trust is built, something beautiful happens. He turns into the sweetest little follower - trailing behind you like a baby duckling, hopping into your lap, and soaking up every bit of affection.
He’s not a rush-in kind of dog.
He’s a slow-bond, deep-love kind of dog.
