My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Chilly Willy — “Chilly,” or “Chills” for short — the black-and-white sweetheart with a heart of pure gold.

Chilly’s story begins on a freezing night north of the Twin Cities, where she was found alone in a wooded area. Someone had likely dumped her in the farmland, leaving her to fend for herself in the bitter cold. But fate intervened: a kind animal lover spotted her and brought her safely indoors. From that moment on, Chilly decided she was done with the outdoor life — and she took to indoor living as if she’d never known anything else.

Chilly is an absolute love bug in every sense. She greets her humans with the sweetest high-pitched meow or a tiny trill, letting you know she missed you while you were gone. She wants nothing more than love, affection, and closeness with her people.

She is a major cuddler — the kind who melts into your lap on the couch or snuggles onto your chest like a baby while purring herself to sleep. Tell her she’s a good girl and she’ll respond with the softest slow blink before resting her head on your shoulder. She may even give you a little kiss or rub her cheek against yours. And when she’s finally settled in, she wears the cutest little sly smile, perfectly content.

When she’s not curled up in your arms, Chilly enjoys watching birds and critters out the window and is a big fan of kitty TV. She loves to play — especially with wand toys — and is a world-class jumper who can launch herself several feet into the air. She'll also entertain herself with other toys, including the automated “spinny under the sheet” toy from the pet store, though she still prefers interactive play with her favorite humans.

Chilly is looking for a calm, loving home. She does well with other cats after slow introductions. She may offer a growl or a hiss in the beginning, but once she settles, she mostly ignores them. She would be perfectly happy as a solo cat or in a home with another respectful feline friend.

This lovely girl is also quite the character with food. She’s great with dry food but has yet to find a wet food she’s excited about — her future family will get to continue that culinary adventure. She’s a very good water drinker and does best with stainless steel bowls for both food and water due to a sensitivity to plastic that can cause chin acne.

Chilly Willy is tender, affectionate, gentle, and truly grateful for every ounce of love she receives. She’s ready for a forever family who will cherish her — because she will absolutely adore them right back.

I am fixed, microchipped, FIV/FeLv negative, and up to date on vaccinations for my age.

More about this rescue

Twin Cities Pet Rescue (TCPR) is a small, 501c3 nonprofit, companion animal rescue organization. TCPR does not have a facility and is 100% foster-based. TCPR rescues dogs, cats and small animals of all breeds; rescuing them from city impounds, puppy mills, and other situations of abuse and neglect. Once rescued, all animals receive veterinary care ranging from spay/neuter, vaccines, microchips, and basic testing to specialty eye surgeries, pet dermatology care, and various other specialty treatments. Once an animal is rescued by TCPR, it remains in a foster home until adopted, no matter how long that might take.
TCPR often rescues animals that are considered “less adoptable” by other rescue organizations, as they are often the ones overlooked and truly left behind; and in need of the most help. These animals might be overlooked due to their age, health status, special needs or breed. TCPR works to help as many animals in need find their furever families as we can, especially helping those animals that need help most.
