Max is a 15-year-old chihuahua who has been through more than any senior dog should. His owner was leaving town for a month and tried to have him euthanized—claiming he was only 10. The vet refused because Max is still healthy. The owner then tried the OC shelter, who also declined due to no space.
He ended up back at the vet, where a kind receptionist reached out to us for help. When we saw his paperwork, we learned the truth: Max is 15… and still wanting nothing more than love and safety.
He’s dog friendly, people friendly, house trained, and sleeps 23 hours a day. Boarding is overwhelming for a senior like him so that’s not an option for him, and he desperately needs a quiet foster or forever home to live out his golden days in peace.
