My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Faith — Your Future Snuggle Buddy

Faith is a 5-year-old, approx. 28 lb Dachshund/Chihuahua mix with the sweetest little soul and a heart built for cuddles. Rescued from a high-kill shelter in Roswell, New Mexico, Faith has already beaten the odds — she is a distemper survivor, proof that this tiny girl is as strong as she is sweet. She also had dental work done to remove painful teeth, and now she’s feeling so much healthier and ready for her happily ever after.

Personality & Temperament

Faith is the definition of a couch potato. Calm, gentle, and low-energy, she prefers soft blankets, cozy beds, and your arms over anything else. She would happily spend her days lounging, napping, and soaking up affection. If you open your arms, she melts right into you.

She’s best paired with other low-energy dogs. She coexists peacefully with her current foster sibling but doesn’t enjoy being pestered by high-energy playmates.

Dog Skills

  • Leash: Walks well, especially with confidence from another dog. On group walks she loosens up, wags her tail, and loves sniffing where the “lead dog” sniffs. Solo walks can be scary for her, so she may try to hurry home.

  • Potty Training: Potty-pad trained and improving her outdoor potty skills. No accidents when pads are available.

  • Crate: Unknown — her fosters haven’t crated her.

At Home

  • Home Alone: Faith struggles with separation and may bark or howl when left, even with another dog present. She’s working through some separation anxiety and abandonment fears.

  • Sleep: She loves sleeping in bed with her humans, sometimes moving to her own cozy dog bed during the night.

  • Alone Time: When her people are home, she’s quiet, calm, and non-destructive.

Ideal Home

Faith’s dream home is calm, quiet, and cozy. She doesn’t need an active lifestyle — she needs someone who loves cuddles, soft blankets, and slower days. A homebody or someone who works from home would be perfect. Any household size is fine as long as the energy is gentle and she has plenty of places to snuggle in.

Fun Facts

  • Strengths: Affectionate, quiet, loyal, a total cuddle muffin.

  • Working On: Building confidence, being alone, and learning her name.

  • Celebrity Twin: Snorlax — soft, sleepy, and the world’s best cuddler.

  • Dating Profile: “Can I be your teddy bear so we can cuddle all night?”

  • Favorite Treat: Anything beef!

  • Wishes she had a friend to share: A warm bed at night.
