Take the Pet Home
Plumette is a beautiful senior Angora rabbit who was dumped at a fire station in a box and then picked up by animal control. When she transferred into our care she had one of the worst flea infestations we have ever seen, a tumor hanging from her neck, severely matted fur all over her body, a respiratory infection, discharge coming from her eyes, and she was underweight and blind from highly matured cataracts. After numerous doses of flea treatment and antibiotics, and some serious grooming, we finally got her fur and infections cleaned up. She also had surgery to remove the tumor and it was benign.
Despite the challenges she has faced, Plumette is a very calm and sweet rabbit! She has a super healthy appetite. She loves to be petted and has behaved beautifully during grooming sessions. Due to her cataracts she is blind, other than perhaps some light perception, and is therefore very careful in her movements and not a very active bunny. She spends most of her day relaxing and waiting patiently for her pellets and treats. Plumette would do best in a quiet home that is consistent and routine, to minimize disorientation for her since she can’t see, and preferably with a human with some previous bunny experience. If you are seeking a quiet and gentle rabbit, Plumette would like to meet you!
We adopt to indoor homes only! If you are interested in adopting a bunny from Orlando Rabbit Care and Adoptions, or would like more information on rabbit care, please visit our website at: http://www.orlandorabbit.org. The first step in our adoption process is to complete an adoption application, which can be found here: https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/55856/generic . Then one of our volunteers will reach out to you via email to schedule a time to speak with you. If you don’t see the email in a day or two, please check your spam folder.
Our Adoption Fee/Donation for a single rabbit is $100, a pair is $170, and a triple is $200. This helps to offset the cost of having the rabbits altered, microchipped and vaccinated, as well as any medical care that may have been required.
