Gloss has had a bit of a rough go of things, but she doesn’t let that get her down! This little lady may have an, ahem, unconventional hair style but as anyone who has struggled with a bad haircut can tell you, it grows back! And the buttery blond hair that Gloss does have is softer than silk and as luscious as her name suggests. Why dwell on what you can’t change, is Gloss’s motto, so she’s future oriented – she’s going to have a thick glossy coat, a forever family, and her deepest wish, a home for the holidays. If you have the power to grant the holiday wish of this sweet senior chihuahua, come take a chance on Gloss – you’ll be glad you did!
Here's some notes from her foster:
If I could describe Gloss in one word it would be sweetheart. This dog LOVES people and wants nothing more than to be your very best friend. She's sweet, smart, silly and truly just the happiest little dog you ever did see.
Gloss sleeps in her dog bed on the floor of our room at night (but would LOVE to sleep in bed with you if you let her) and generally wakes up around 7/8am to go out. After her walk and breakfast she snuggles herself up in a blanket on our couch and will snooze all afternoon, only waking for potty breaks. We do not have a yard so we take her on short walk/potty breaks about every 4 hours. She goes to the bathroom quickly when you take her out and has no problem holding it overnight. She doesn't seem to mind being left alone for short periods of time but would do best in a home where she could be with her people most of the time. Her only dislike is crates, so she would do best given free range of the home when left alone or sleeping.
She happily coexists with other senior/calm tempered dogs but would also do great as a solo dog in the home. She prefers cuddling over playtime so high energy children or dogs would not be enjoyable for her. She is a fast learner and has picked up cues ("go lay down") very quickly.
Gloss has been such a joy to foster and we know that she's going to be such a wonderful addition to her new family.
