Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hello handsome! Meet Rip!
Rip is an absolute showstopper of a Great Dane! He recently came to FDHS after his previous owner could no longer care for him. Even with all the changes he’s been through, Rip has been settling in with a calm, easygoing attitude that’s made him a fast favorite among staff.
This big guy has experience living with kids, cats and other dogs. However, in his previous home he did not get along with male dogs, so we’re keeping that in mind as we look for the right fit. We’re hopeful neutering may help ease some of that tension over time, but for now, a home without male dogs will be the safest and most comfortable option for him. Around people, Rip has been nothing but sweet. He enjoys attention, handles well for staff and walks nicely on leash for a dog his size.
Rip is incredibly lovable, but we always remind potential adopters that Great Danes come with their own set of unique needs. They’re loyal, goofy and wonderful companions, but they require space, structure, resources and someone who understands life with a giant breed. A little research goes a long way in making sure he finds a forever home perfect for him
If you’re a fan of gentle giants, have done your Dane homework and are ready to share your home (and your couch) with a seriously handsome companion, Rip is ready for his happily ever after!
