Lady Sage is a 5 year old, 14 pound female dachshund. She came to our rescue due to no fault of her own. Her owner loved her but her health was declining, she was being evicted and she couldn't keep her. She is very nervous right now and will need some time to learn to trust other humans. She is making progress. Here is what we have learned so far.
Loves walks and car rides.
Summary: she REALLY wants a human all the time. Secondarily she wants a low chair that she can burrow into. She has done well with both men and women. Probably not suited for small children. She has taken well to a yard. She will bark at other dogs, the doorbell, and other sounds and her bark is impressive for such a little dog. She does well on the leash and only tugs a little. She has had limited contact with cats and seems to wonder why the dogs in her foster home want to bark at them and chase them. She needs an experienced owner who will not give her human food or give in to her growls or moans as she is quite an actress.
Lady Sage has been working on a lot of things and is doing great. She will still need some work but she is wanting to be loved.
