My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dawn is a sweet and affectionate young pup. She came to us after a personal matter affected her family and she needed placement.

She is very affectionate, showering people with big hugs and kisses. She would benefit greatly from some 1:1 training time. She has yet to learn that we can love big without such power.

Because she has a lot of power in her jump, she may not do great with younger kids who are more susceptible to being knocked over - at least until she is trained.

Dawn is wicked smart and picks up on cues quickly. She came to us not housebroken but we were able to train her in 2 days time. She is eager to please - eager to love - eager for your attention and affection.

Dawn is spayed, up to date on her vaccines including distemper, bordetella, and rabies. She has received her latest monthly dose of flea & tick preventative and is heartworm, Ehrlichia canis, Lyme's and Anaplasma negative (4DX).

Dawn came from a home with two other dogs and small children. She had no issue with those dogs however we have not tested her with other dogs at our shelter. She doesn't seem to mind the other dogs though. We don't know how she would do with cats. She seems super curious about those in her world and surroundings.

Dawn is simply waiting for a family to fall madly in love with her. We know they are out there!

Additional adoption info

We are a donation based operation located in Redwood Falls, Minnesota. We fully vet, vaccinate and medicate animals that come into our care according to their age under the direction of our team of veterinarians: Riverside Vet Clinic. All dogs and cats receive a comprehensive wellness exam, distemper, rabies (if old enough), are dewormed & medicated for flea/tick/heartworms (as a preventative). Occassionally, we will receive a very sick animal who will require significantly more vetting than others and those vet fees are offset into the adoption fee. This would be why some animals are priced higher than others.

Go meet their pets

The Duke Memorial Redwood Area Animal Shelter is located at 201 Sherwood Drive in Redwood Falls, Minnesota. Our adoption hours include Monday through Friday from 1pm - 5pm. Anyone is welcome to visit during our open hours of operation unless indicated differently on our social media. Our animals would love to meet you and play with you. We also host 'doggie day out' events where a family can take a pup out for a day on the town while we are open. It's a great way to get to know the animal and the animal to get to know you!
