My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Best Match:

●  Seeking an adopter with some experience

●  Could join a quiet home with older kids

●  Part of a bonded pair

●  Needs to be indoor only

●  Needs daily medication for arthritis

Meet adorable bonded pair of senior cats Bean and Bamboo, aka the “Bambeanos.” Bean is a sweet and spunky lady who shows you her true self once you’ve earned her trust. Her brother Bamboo is a big love bug and is very generous with his affection. After a lifetime together, Bean and Bamboo are ready for a calm, loving home where they can spend their time together napping in sunbeams and getting plenty of attention.

Bamboo’s size may be the first thing you notice, but it’s also just how big his soft, cuddly center is. He loves people and wants to be wherever you are. He’ll take almost any opportunity to cuddle up next to you, and jumps into bed with you every evening with an eager affection and tucks right in. He often climbs on your chest with his paws on your lower neck or will sit near you with a paw on one of your legs. He’s also an affectionate brother to Bean and will often seek her out for a nap or grooming session.

Bean has the sweetest face that is begging for chin scritches, which she adores, which makes giving her affection very easy. She loves stretching out in patches of sunlight and looking out the window or balcony door to keep an eye on what’s going on outside. She’s an affectionate cat who isn’t as physically attached to humans as her brother Bamboo is, but she likes to be nearby, often curling up for a nap within arm’s reach or even curling up on your chest when Bamboo isn’t hogging your attention. She makes more biscuits than her brother does and enjoys a delicious Churu after a long day of baking. She isn't easily overstimulated, but she prefers petting less than her brother Bamboo. When she's done, she'll just wander off.

Like many senior pets, Bean and Bamboo have a few known medical needs. One of the perks of adopting an older cat is knowing exactly how to care for them. Both have arthritis and kidney disease, eat a wet-food only diet, and take their medications easily when mixed with food or Churu.

And don’t let their age fool you! Both Bean and Bamboo still love to play, for about 5-10 minutes at a time. They love ribbon wands, cat dancers, and catnip bananas. Watching Bamboo “vibe out” with a catnip banana is adorable, as he rubs his head all over it and tries to draw it as close to him as possible. Compared to her brother, Bean is more engaged with hunting after ribbon wands and cat dancers, often stalking them and then pouncing or being willing to chase them into another room. She sometimes even leaps into the air, even with her arthritis! With Bamboo, you need to be the one to initiate a play session, but when you do, he rises to the occasion. He often prefers to play from one spot rather than running around after the toys. Work smart, not hard!

Bamboo and Bean are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and tested negative for FeLV and FIV. If you are interested in setting up a meeting or have more questions, please complete our Adoption Inquiry form:   form.jotform.com/cattownoak/adoption-inquiries
