Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home. Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion.
A note to those looking at CPR. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. Our job is to find those someone's. Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog. They come to us because they want to give a dog a home. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today. We'll update as more information is known.

Date into Rescue: 11/15/25
Reason for being in rescue: Breeder release/health of breeder
Foster location: Foster Home in Lancaster SC - meet and greets will be at Dreamweaver Farm Pacolet SC
Special Needs? Penny is up to date on vaccines for age and has been dewormed. She had an ear infection upon arrival and foster mom is working on resolving that.
Weight: 31 lbs - tracking to be about 50 full grown
Height: 18 in at the shoulder now - tracking to be 24" when full grown
Spayed/Neutered: No. Penny is too young to be spayed. She will be adopted on a spay/neuter addendum that requires you to spay her within 9 months at your cost and provide proof of spay.
Adoption Fee: $699
Fence needed? Yes, Penny requires a physically fenced yard with fencing 4 feet or taller.
What kind of home would be best for me? Penny's perfect home will have someone home more than they are away. We would prefer someone with standard poodle experience and, in a perfect world, a gregarious and happy under 5-year-old standard poodle as her buddy and BFF. Fenced in yard is an absolute must and an active home that believes that dogs are companions and takes their dogs everywhere.
Poodle puppies are always in need of a canine friend, they love to run and play with one another. Poodle puppies are active, agile little babies, they need homes that are ready to tire them out both mentally and physically, so a fenced in yard will be required. Poodle puppies are very well rounded dogs, they do not meet strangers and would do well with a nice big family or a single owner! What matters most to a poodle puppy is a happy and excited owner ready to take on loving and training their new puppy! When raised around cats, with proper boundaries, puppies do very well, it is important to note that poodles can have a high prey drive. If you expect your puppy to get alone with your feline buddy, it’s important to start socializing the puppy with the cat as soon as you can! This pup has not had contact with cats that we know of and will not have contact while with their current foster.
What is my personality like? Penelope is a natural-born cuddler, happily snuggling up on the couch or in bed, yet she's just as content relaxing in her kennel. With calming music, Penny sleeps soundly through the night. She's also a social butterfly, getting along wonderfully with dogs her own size. She is also learning, with gentle reminders, to be more considerate of her smaller friends.
Penny is still all puppy and like a toddler so that means if she can get into it she will and if she can get it in her mouth she will. Penny is such a joy to have around, and it is a blessing to watch her grow and become the fabulous dog we think she will be.
PUPPY POLICY:
Thank you for carefully considering the addition of a puppy to your family. Puppies can be a joyous experience, but they can also be a tremendous amount of work. Since our goal is to place each of our dogs in forever homes, we are especially cautious with puppies. We like to stress 3 major things when considering a puppy vs. an adult dog: 1) many adult dogs are well bred, well trained dogs who find themselves in rescue through no fault of their own, 2) adult dogs are eager to share their love and bond with their new family, and 3) puppies will always require far more time, energy, and training than an adult dog.
Our ideal puppy adopters are:
-experienced dog owners with a solid record of excellent vet care of their previous pets
-scheduled away from home for no more than 4 hours per day and have another canine companion already in the home
-stay at home type of people (work at home, home schoolers, retired, etc)
How do I act when I first meet new people? Friendly and curious.
Other tips and tidbits: Penelope's birthdate is 07/04/25.
When Penelope arrived mid November, her foster mom intended to make this forever. Life events have intervened and foster mom has realized that Penny needs more than she can give her now and asked us to find perfect for this perfect Penny girl.
House trained? Penny is thriving with potty training and has mastered using the doggie door. Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.

Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you.
