My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Age: 3 years

Chewy isn`t like other bengals (although he`s still just as clingy, social, and high-energy!); no, what sets Chewy apart is that he`s actually almost completely blind! That`s why Chewy will need a home that is able to help him meet his physical enrichment needs, can set up their space so Chewy can navigate easily, and most importantly, can give him all of the love he deserves. Because what he lacks in sight, he makes up for in being a clingy, affectionate, and chatty cat! It was noted by his previous family that Chewy did well with kids but may appreciate children over 8 since he can get overstimulated easily.

Alongside his blindness, Chewy has some other medical concerns that will need close monitoring with a vet to ensure that he is staying healthy and strong! Bengals are already a lot of work to keep them enriched and happy, so be sure that you`re prepared for a special cat like Chewy!

More about this shelter

CONNECTING LIVES SINCE 1922

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.

Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.

Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.

Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.

Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
