Dunn is a dachshund mix with the cutest stubby legs and big, soulful eyes that make it impossible not to smile. He can be a little barky in his kennel, but that’s just his way of saying, “Hey! I’m down here and I’m adorable!” Once he’s out, he walks nicely on leash and is happiest when he’s close to his person. Dunn truly loves treats and will gladly curl up in your lap the moment he gets the chance. Fun Fact: Dunn believes laps were invented specifically for him, regardless of size!

All shelter locations are conducting animal viewing and adoptions on a first come, first serve basis. We are not able to move a pet from one location to another for your viewing.
The adoption fee is waived for all available pets in care and in foster homes. Standard adoption practices will still be in place, including background checks.

The City of Albuquerque Animal Welfare Department (AWD) expanded the shelter days of service to seven days a week with operational hours of 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and pet viewing from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m for both the east and west side shelter locations.
