Gingersnap is a 3-month-old, cuddly and sweet kitten looking for his forever home. He starts his mornings with wet food and instantly seeks out a welcoming lap for snuggles, often choosing affection before breakfast. He’s a loving little guy who adores being pet and happily curls up with his humans whenever he gets the chance. Once he’s fueled up, he spends his day playing and wrestling with his siblings, exploring the house, and settling in for long naps in a cozy kitten pile.
Gingersnap has typical kitten energy and loves to burn it off by zooming around the house, climbing the cat tree, and batting around anything small he finds on the floor. He currently lives in a foster home with his littermates, his mama cat, two adults, and four older children. He gets along well with other cats and is great with kids of all ages. He is dog selective—he likes some dogs but not all—so slow, careful introductions to any resident dogs will be important.
His ideal home has a moderate to low energy level and plenty of opportunities for cuddles and playtime. Gingersnap would be happiest in a home with another kitten or a young, playful cat to keep him company. He has no medical issues and is scheduled to be neutered on 12/20/25.

All cats have received comprehensive veterinary care and tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV unless otherwise stated. Cats are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations and have been spayed/neutered, treated for fleas and/or ear mites, de-wormed, and microchipped. Please note there may be additional follow-up visits.

For example, the foster family will know if the dog or cat is good with other animals or children, and will have a good idea of what kind of training, attention, and special needs the pet may require. This makes our foster families great resources for potential adopters!

What We Do
We help dogs and cats find homes with loving families through foster-based care. Every dog and cat lives with a foster family until they find their forever families. We provide all of their basic needs including proper food, veterinary care, behavior training, and supplies.
Through in-home fostering, we learn about each animal’s temperament, personality, likes/dislikes, and any medical needs. With this first-hand information, we can then find the right family for each dog and cat.
Our volunteers also educate the public on responsible companion animal care and represent respect for animals at all times. Whether we’re working with prospective new families, meeting people at public events, or socializing with friends and family, we encourage others to view and treat their pets as members of the family. We are their guardians, and they depend on us for companionship and care.
We spay/neuter prior to adoption.
We microchip all our Pet Haven Pets and remain as a secondary contact.
We make sure all pets are up to date on required vaccinations
We test for Heartworm and Lymes in all our dogs and are transparent in the results and treament
We test for FeLV/FIV and are transparent in the results. We believe that cats who test positive still deserve a chance at a quality home.
We do not euthanize animals unless they have untreatable health or behavioral conditions that deny them an acceptable quality of life or makes them a serious threat to people, other animals, or themselves.
How We Operate
We rely on adoption fees, tax-deductible donations, grants, and special events to keep our rescue operating. Our staff, Board of Directors, and volunteers have provided the passion and commitment to keep Pet Haven a safe haven for animals for almost 70 years.
We are committed to preventing pet homelessness through the SNIP Grant. Since 2005, we have granted more than $240,000 to organizations in Minnesota to support spay/neuter initiatives.
