My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

If you’ve ever dreamed of a living, purring ball of sunshine curling up in your lap, prepare to fall in love with Simba — the most beautiful, fluffy orange cuddlebug you’ll ever meet. This boy is a true lap cat who wants nothing more than to snuggle into your arms and melt into you. His purr? Loud, proud, and nonstop.

Simba has a gentle soul and can be a little shy with new people at first, but once he decides you’re part of his inner circle, he becomes a complete extrovert. He’ll follow you around, chirp for attention, flop over for belly rubs, and plant himself right in your lap the moment you sit down. He’s affectionate, expressive, and deeply loyal to his humans.

But the most important thing to know about Simba is that he comes as part of a perfect, inseparable pair. Enter Ramsey, Simba’s quiet, introverted twin. They are a bonded pair who were rescued from a local feral colony as very young kittens. Thanks to the tender loving care of their rescuer and the kind folks at IAR, they are now loving their lives as safe indoor housecats!

Ramsey is the soft-spoken counterpart to Simba’s sunny glow. He’s an introvert through and through: gentle, observant, and quite reserved. He will take his time warming up, and once he trusts you, you’ll discover a sweet, sensitive boy who shows affection in small but meaningful ways — slow blinks from across the room and choosing to sit close enough to be part of your world, without being in the mix.

Most importantly, Simba and Ramsey are completely devoted to each other. They nap together, groom one another, and seek comfort in each other’s presence. Simba gives Ramsey confidence; Ramsey gives Simba stability. They are two halves of a perfect pair.
These boys will thrive in a calm, patient home with humans who appreciate both outgoing affection and quiet companionship. Simba will happily fill your days with warmth, cuddles, and purrs, while Ramsey will reward your patience with a soft, steady kind of love.

💕 If you’re looking for…
✔ A gorgeous lap-loving orange fluffball (Simba!)
✔ A sweet, introverted twin with a tender spirit (Ramsey!)
✔ A bonded pair who balance each other beautifully
✔ Double the love, double the charm, double the floof

…then Simba & Ramsey might be your perfect match.

Adoption Process

  • Fill out an adoption interest application HERE.

  • Our goal is finding lifelong, loving homes for our animals, so we try to find the best match between animal and adopter. We can help advise you on which animals to meet based on your situation.

  • You can meet some of our animals at our weekend adoption events, or we can arrange for a meeting in the foster home. If it’s a good match, the foster parent will come to visit your home in person. This is to make sure your home is safe and secure for a new companion animal.

  • Note: IAR makes every effort to please our adopters, but our first concern must be for the animal’s welfare. We reserve the right to deny any application.

More about this rescue

IAR started with one woman's big dreams, a bigger heart, and a very distinctive purple pickup truck that helped her rescue countless of unwanted, abused, and homeless Triangle pets. Originally founded in 1994, IAR earned an official 501(c)(3) status in 1995. We are governed by a Board of Directors, managed by elected officers, and introduced IAR’s first paid position, General Manager, in June 2021. This role will assist with elevating our collective compassion to new heights and strengthening IAR’s impact as a whole.

Our mission is to rescue and provide safe and responsible care for homeless, abandoned, and abused animals. We shall strive to help all animals in need through our service programs. We will serve our communities through promotion of spay/neuter for all companion animals, and the education of children and adults in humane care, respect and responsibility for animals on this earth.
