My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello...hello...hello out there! My name is Echo and I'm a curious and rambunctious guy looking for my next adventure. I love to stalk and pounce anything fuzzy, wand toys don't stand a chance against my hunting prowess, and I never met a cozy bed I didn't like. But like any great story, here's my plot twist...I'm vision impaired! With all the good kind of kitty mischief I can get into, it's easy to miss. I've been this way my whole life though and I've learned to adjust. It will be safest for me to be an indoor only cat and if I'm honest, I'm kinda choosy about the other cats I want to be around. However, I really like being with people and look forward to curling up on your pillow. If you want to make me part of your family, come visit me at Woods in Atascadero. See you soon.!

More about this shelter

Founded in 1955, Woods Humane Society is a nonprofit organization which receives no tax funds, but is supported by donations, grants, bequests, fundraising events and fees for services. Woods is independent of San Luis Obispo County Animal Services, but works in close cooperation with them and other animal groups in the county for the welfare of all animals.

Woods now cares for over 3,000 cats and dogs each year at our facilities in San Luis Obispo and Atascadero until they can be united with loving forever families. We bring in animals from other shelters where they are less likely to be adopted and from individuals who are no longer able to care for their pets. Woods is committed to finding loving homes for all healthy and treatable pets, no matter how long it takes. With our behavior and veterinary resources, we are able to go the extra mile for animals in need.
