About Casper

  • Breed: Siberian Husky

  • Age: 2 years

  • Color: Black & White

  • Gender: Male (neutered)

  • Vaccines: Current

  • Location: Sacramento, CA

  • Reason for Rehoming: Housing challenges + owner is unable to continue care

Casper was adopted from the local dog pound just two months ago. While he is a sweet and social dog, his owner is currently facing housing issues and mental health challenges that make it impossible to continue caring for him.

✨ Personality & Behavior

  • Friendly with children

  • Very social and excited around visitors

  • Loves being around people

  • Potty trained

  • Allows people to take food and toys

  • Has lived with kids

  • Does not do well with cats or small dogs

Casper has the classic Husky friendliness and energy. He enjoys interaction and thrives with a family who can give him attention, structure, and activity.

Ideal Home

Casper would do best in a home that can offer:

  • Regular exercise (Huskies need daily activity)

  • Mental stimulation and enrichment

  • A stable living situation

  • No cats or small dogs

  • A family or individual who enjoys an active lifestyle

He is very people-oriented and would love a home where he can be included.

Veterinary Notes

Casper has been seen by a veterinarian. The owner listed:
Phone: 916-851-1813 (vet contact number provided)

He is neutered and current on vaccines.

All animals are up-to-date on vaccinations (including rabies if over 4 months old), microchipped, and spayed or neutered. All dogs have been been vaccinated with DHPP and Bordatella (kennel cough) and heartworm tested negative (if over 6 months).    All cats have been vaccinated with FVRCP and current on flea control. Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

*The shelter is currently open for adoptions by appointment only. Please email us at adoptycas@gmail.com if you are interested in adopting.
For other shelter services, please call us at (530) 668-5287*

To adopt you must have a photo ID and proof of your current address. If not on your ID then bring in a bill with your name and your current address. If you rent you must provide a lease clearly stating the pet policy or provide a name and phone number for your landlord so that we may confirm the pet policy. If you own your home you may provide a mortgage statement or property tax bill for proof.

You must be 18 years or older to adopt.

If you wish to adopt a dog and have other dog(s) at home, please bring them with you to the shelter so that they may meet. Even if your dog is wonderful with other dogs, many of the dogs at the shelter have come in as strays so we have no history on them and need to be sure they get along with your pet(s).

If you have any other questions, please go to www.yolocountysheriff.com or call the shelter for more information.
