My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
This pet was brought in by their previous owner on 6/29/2025.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Shredder, an affectionate and laidback feline in search of a loving new home! Shredder can be shy with new faces and places, and will need a bit of time to open up at his own pace. Once he feels safe, he blossoms into a huge cuddle bug! His foster reports that every time they get home from work, he's on the bed meowing for pets. He loves to plop down on your lap and nudge you for some attention. He has been indifferent towards the other cats in his foster home, and is happy keeping to himself. If you're looking for a new best friend to share lots of snuggles with, Shredder could be your guy!

At SDHS:
This pet has been vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. This pet is now ready for their new home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
