Meet Dexter – the sweetest soul learning to trust again
Dexter is a beautiful 6-month-old pup with a tender heart and a story that will stay with you. When he was just 11 weeks old, Pep’s Pals Rescue was at the shelter picking up another dog. That’s when we saw little Dexter being dragged in for an owner surrender, terrified and confused. We couldn’t leave him behind.
Dexter has spent the last few months in a loving foster home, slowly learning that humans can be gentle, patient, and kind. He’s still scared of people—through no fault of his own—but once he feels safe, the sweetness in him shines. He absolutely adores other dogs and finds comfort and confidence in their presence. Because of this, Dexter must go to a home with another friendly, well-adjusted dog who can help guide him.
Dexter needs an adopter who understands that trust takes time. If you are patient, compassionate, and willing to let him grow at his own pace, you’ll be amazed at the small, beautiful steps he takes. Every tail wag, every nuzzle, every moment of bravery will feel like a gift.
Adoption details:
Dexter’s adoption fee is $400. An additional $50 is required for a health certificate, $13 for microchip registration, and a $100 neuter deposit, which is fully refunded once proof of surgery is provided.
