Hi, I’m Maple Bourbon. I was rescued in October 2025 after being considered for euthanasia because I kept getting returned and my health declined in the shelter. I don’t remember much about my life before then—just that this year was really hard. But once I was rescued, I finally learned what love and safety feel like.
I’ve discovered I love wearing sweaters (I look very handsome), going on peaceful off-leash walks, and trying all kinds of treats. Being in a real home has helped me come out of my shell and show how gentle and sweet I truly am.
I’m a senior pup who’s deaf, but I learn hand signs quickly. I have arthritis and some anxiety, but my meds help me stay comfortable. I’m not a big fan of car rides, though medication makes them easier.
I’d thrive with someone retired, hybrid/remote, or experienced with senior dogs. A yard would make me very happy—and I’d love a human who doesn’t mind if I cuddle on the couch or bed. I promise to be the sweetest companion.
