January 14th, 2025, was a day like any other. Unless you were an unnamed puppy. Surviving a winter storm, alone after someone carried off my brother. But January 14th, 2025, changed my world.
I was no longer unnamed. Unwanted.
I became Booth that day.
If you were to get out your dictionary in search of Loyalty, you’d without a doubt, find a picture of Booth.
We’ve all had great friends, life long friends.
Very few of us get a chance to have a friend that is only YOUR friend. Firmly loyal to his person only. He’s never going to be the life of the party. He won’t be your neighbors “good morning boy” on their daily walk.
But he will be yours. You’ll know what it means to come home to someone who missed you, and is exuberant in their celebration, every time.
Booth is dog selective. That isn’t a quiet suggestion, it is a firm boundary for him. He’d be best in a home with either no other dogs, or with the right people who know this will require patience, and total supervision the entire time the dogs are getting to know each other.
Booth lives in a home with two other dogs, a puppy and a three year old Malinois. He loves both of them, and he’s an excellent “big brother” to the puppy. Although they are never left unsupervised together.
He loves cats, so dog savvy cats are perfect for him because he loves to play.
A privacy fence is not negotiable. He can and will jump or climb anything similiar to a chain link fence, No matter the height.
He is crate trained, although he does not do well with long term kenneling. Anything over 3 hours and his anxiety builds beyond what is fair for him to endure. He has been able to sleep freely in his persons bedroom, no chewing / destroying items for the last four months.
We’ve been allowing him to be free while we aren’t home, and so far have only sustained minimal chewing to the dogs couch. So he very well could be a dog that is able to be free roaming in the home all the time with a little more work.
Booth is leash trained, rides well in a car.
Booths idea of the perfect day, would be a walk. Playing with his sticks and balls in the yard for two hours, and absolutely no visitors. 🤣 He does not like having strangers in his personal space, and he’s not afraid to sing the songs of his people to let you know.
When it comes to meeting new people, he lives by the ideal that strangers are to be avoided. He is a slow intro. He won’t be looking for pets or attention. He’s willing to take treats, and accept minimal attention, but ultimately he seeks his own space during meet and greets.
Booth needs his person / people to have patience, if they do, they’ll wind up with an incredible dog that shows you what it is to be loved entirely by a beautiful soul.
Booth’s adoption fee is $175 and includes his neuter, microchip, vaccines and flea/tick/heartworm preventatives. Meet and Greets can be scheduled with Approved Adopters.

Where are you located?
Pawsitive Tails does not have a physical location. All of our dogs live in loving foster homes throughout the Kansas City and Topeka area. This allows fosters to get to know each dog personally, so we can find the very best home for them.
What are your hours?
As a foster based rescue, every person with Pawsitive Tails is a volunteer. Because we do not have a facility, we do not have “open” hours but can be contacted between 8am and 9pm.
Can I stop in to visit dogs and play with puppies?
No. We require an approved application to be on file before meeting our dogs/puppies. In addition, our dogs live in foster homes, so we must work around the foster parents’ schedule.
