Sure, your family is great, and they keep you company. But there’s no substitute for a little buddy who is ready to snuggle up next to you at any given moment.

Sammy loves to sit beside you, whether you’re deep in concentration on your work or just streaming the latest episodes. When she lays on your lap and drifts off to dreamland, it’s relaxing and comforting for you both. And isn’t it just too bad – so, SO sad – that you can’t get up and go clean the whole house, because Sammy is asleep on your lap? We can’t disturb her. What a tragedy that would be. Guess those chores will have to wait.

She is a 9-year-old Rat Terrier mix who weighs 10 lbs. So she fits right with you on the couch, your work chair, or even cuddled up to you in bed at night. She knows basic commands and walks well on a leash – she’d probably love short daily walks. Sammy has a sassy streak and may have, ahem, selective hearing when you’re asking her to do things. But who wants to be boring and follow directions all the time?

She gets along well with other dogs and with cats. Sammy should live in a home with kids over the age of 10.

She is spayed, microchipped and vaccinated. She’s also current on heartworm preventative and flea/tick prevention. Her adoption fee is $225. To meet her, get approved to adopt at PawsitiveTailsKC.org.

1.
Submit Application

Our first step is to have you fill out an application at www.pawsitivetailskc.org. Filling it out completely will make approval quicker

2.
Interview

Our team will work on your application. Once approved, the foster parent will contact you for a meet and greet.

3.
Meet the Pet

The foster will reach out to set up a meet and greet.

4.
Take the Pet Home

If everyone agrees that the adoption is a good fit, you will sign our contract, pay their adoption fee and the dog can go home!

Additional adoption info

Please don't email inquiries, our first step is to have you fill out an application on the website. Most of your questions will be answered in the dogs' bio on our website. We do not schedule meet and greets without an approved application.

1. Complete an adoption application at www.pawsitivetailskc.org and receive approval
2. Adoption fees are listed on the website. Just click on the picture of the dog that you're interested in.
3. Once your app is approved, the foster will schedule a time with you for a meet and greet with your chosen dog/puppy
4. If all goes well, a home visit will be scheduled
5. Pick up your new furry friend and complete an adoption contract

Where are you located?
Pawsitive Tails does not have a physical location. All of our dogs live in loving foster homes throughout the Kansas City and Topeka area. This allows fosters to get to know each dog personally, so we can find the very best home for them.

What are your hours?
As a foster based rescue, every person with Pawsitive Tails is a volunteer. Because we do not have a facility, we do not have “open” hours but can be contacted between 8am and 9pm.

Can I stop in to visit dogs and play with puppies?
No. We require an approved application to be on file before meeting our dogs/puppies. In addition, our dogs live in foster homes, so we must work around the foster parents’ schedule.

Pawsitive Tails is a not for profit organization focused on finding forever homes for dog and puppies. We are not a shelter and we do not have a facility - all the dogs in our program live in foster homes.
