My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

These days, we need to consider who belongs in our pod, our inner circle, our chosen family. We can be friendly to everyone, but only a certain few really deserve that bestie distinction, you know?

Rudie likes to take a little time to decide if you are her peeps. She looks for reassurance and she checks if you have some patience (and some treats, she’s definitely checking for treats!) for you to welcome each other into the truest fam. Once you’re connected, you’ll have a bond with all the feels and all the warm fuzzies you could possibly want.

The rewards are infinite of having a front-row seat to seeing a dog discover that their humans are the absolute best! You’ll get to see her try new things and gain confidence, and there is nothing better.

Rudie is a 5-year-old, 50-lb. Labrador Retriever mix who wants soooo badly to be your BFF. And she’ll get there, with a little time and space.
She has started new experiences with her foster people, by learning to walk on a leash. Now, she’s found the joys of stop ‘n’ sniffs throughout the neighborhood. Who knew that’s so much fun?! She sits on command, and she loves a good chew toy. She treats her favorite stuffie toys so gently. Life is grand!

She’s really quite a couch potato, though sometimes she erupts with zoomies after her person has been gone and comes home. Silly girl.

Rudie doesn’t like any loud or sudden noises, so that’s when she looks to her chosen people to keep things even keel for her. She’ll need to live in a calmer home with adults or with kids who are tweens to teens and older, and who’ll give her the space to bloom where she’s planted, thriving best as the one-and-only pup in the household.

She is house trained, spayed, microchipped and vaccinated, as well as current on heartworm preventative and flea/tick prevention. Her adoption fee is $175. To meet her, pack your patience and your treats, and apply to adopt her at PawsitiveTailsKC.org.

Go meet their pets

Where are you located?
Pawsitive Tails does not have a physical location. All of our dogs live in loving foster homes throughout the Kansas City and Topeka area. This allows fosters to get to know each dog personally, so we can find the very best home for them.

What are your hours?
As a foster based rescue, every person with Pawsitive Tails is a volunteer. Because we do not have a facility, we do not have “open” hours but can be contacted between 8am and 9pm.

Can I stop in to visit dogs and play with puppies?
No. We require an approved application to be on file before meeting our dogs/puppies. In addition, our dogs live in foster homes, so we must work around the foster parents’ schedule.

More about this rescue

Pawsitive Tails strives to be something different in the animal adoption community. We simply want to help dogs and puppies find new homes by matching the right dog to the right family.

Pawsitive Tails is a not for profit organization focused on finding forever homes for dog and puppies. We are not a shelter and we do not have a facility - all the dogs in our program live in foster homes.
