My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You say you love me, and it's inviting to go where life is more exciting ❤️

But I was raised on country sunshine ☀️

I was raised on country sunshine, green grass beneath my feet 🌱

Running through the fields of daisies, wading through the creek 🌼

You love me, and it's inviting to go where life is more exciting 🥳

But I was raised on country sunshine☀️

I was raised on country sunshine, I'm happy with the simple things 🚜

A Saturday night walk, a picture show, and the joy that a comfy couch brings 🛋️

I love you, please believe me, I won't want you to ever leave me ❤️💕🥰

Howdy, partner! I’m Dottie West, a 2-year-old Pointer weighing in at about 55 lbs, and I’m the sweetest little lady on this side of the Mississippi! I really was raised on country sunshine; I was found in the countryside of rural Kansas. I spent a few weeks at the local vet clinic, and nobody came forward to claim me. You can thank my previous family, because their loss is your HUGE gain. If you’re needing a noble steed that is quiet, sweet, lovable, cuddly, mellow, and loves attention, I am the gal for you! I LOVE my people so much, and I value our time spent together more than anything!

Don’t worry, I can be independent too. I get along great with other dogs and love to play! I haven’t been around cats or kids, though I can’t imagine I would have any issues. I am fine on the leash, but there is always a little room for improvement. I am house-trained, know basic commands, and am crate-trained. I promise you’re going to love me!

I will come to you spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. I will also be current on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. My adoption fee is $175. I believe home is where the herd is, so go ahead and make me part of your herd! Stampede on over to PawsitiveTailsKC.org and fill out an app to meet me! YEEHAW! 🤠

Go meet their pets

Where are you located?
Pawsitive Tails does not have a physical location. All of our dogs live in loving foster homes throughout the Kansas City and Topeka area. This allows fosters to get to know each dog personally, so we can find the very best home for them.

What are your hours?
As a foster based rescue, every person with Pawsitive Tails is a volunteer. Because we do not have a facility, we do not have “open” hours but can be contacted between 8am and 9pm.

Can I stop in to visit dogs and play with puppies?
No. We require an approved application to be on file before meeting our dogs/puppies. In addition, our dogs live in foster homes, so we must work around the foster parents’ schedule.

More about this rescue

Pawsitive Tails strives to be something different in the animal adoption community. We simply want to help dogs and puppies find new homes by matching the right dog to the right family.

Pawsitive Tails is a not for profit organization focused on finding forever homes for dog and puppies. We are not a shelter and we do not have a facility - all the dogs in our program live in foster homes.
