My name is Kolache!

Kolache is a beautiful 2-year-old hound mix with soulful eyes, a gentle nature, and a whole lot of love to give. This sweet girl recently overcame a serious medical condition and has handled it all with grace and resilience. She’s now bright, alert, comfortable, and happily eating, walking, and taking care of business on her own.

Kolache has had surgery to correct a severe vaginal prolapse, which has fully resolved, and she’s been spayed to prevent future issues. She’s currently on a short course of medications and has some temporary activity restrictions while she finishes healing. She also began treatment for heartworm disease, which her future family or foster will continue with guidance from the medical team.

Behaviorally, Kolache is described as sweet and easygoing, with no behavior concerns noted. True to her hound heritage, she enjoys sniffing, strolling, and spending time with her people. Once her purse-string suture is removed (scheduled around 12/18), she’ll be cleared to join playgroups and enjoy more normal activities.

Kolache would thrive in a foster or adoptive home that can provide a calm environment, help her stay on track with medications, and give her the affection she clearly adores. Her prognosis is good, and she’s ready to leave her medical journey behind and start her next chapter as a cherished family member.
