Spencer is a sweet, cuddly 11 month old Weimaraner / terrier mix that weighs 50 lbs. He is estimated to be around 55 lbs once he is full grown. Spencer is best described as friendly, outgoing, social, and super cuddly. He’s a go-with-the-flow kind of guy who genuinely loves being part of the action. Whether that means tagging along on fun public outings, spending the afternoon visiting friends, or even sitting courtside to watch a lively game of pickleball with his humans, Spencer is always happy to join. No matter where he goes, Spencer’s tail is wagging and his charm is turned all the way up. He’s a true social butterfly who makes friends instantly, both with people and other dogs, and his gentle, easygoing personality shines in any environment. One of the things that makes Spencer such an amazing companion is how incredibly well-behaved and relaxed he is out in public. He’s the type of pup you want to bring everywhere. Whether it’s joining you at dog-friendly shops, coffee patios, or casual gatherings, he fits right in. He would even thrive going to a dog-friendly office with his human each day. His calm, sweet demeanor and love for people make him the perfect workday companion who’s happy to hang out, snooze, and soak up attention between meetings. At home, Spencer’s curious nature and love for his humans are always on display. He follows his foster mom from room to room like her little shadow, making sure he’s part of whatever she’s doing. The moment she sits down, Spencer is right there beside her curling up, leaning in close, and settling in for a cozy nap. He gives the best cuddles and melts into you like he’s been waiting all day for that moment. Spencer truly is the best of both worlds: a fun, spunky adventurer when it's time to explore, and the sweetest, snuggliest companion when it’s time to relax. He brings joy, comfort, and a whole lot of love everywhere he goes.
Spencer is medium energy, and enjoys a nice balance of playtime and relaxation. He is overall mellow with short bursts of energy that requires longer walks or play time multiple times a day. His favorite things to do include short leisurely walks around neighborhood, going on car rides, playing with toys, and going to dog-friendly outings and to dog-friendly stores. He also enjoys playing in the backyard with other dogs, tug-o-war, chase, play wrestling. He would love to go to doggy day care a couple of days during the week or have doggy play dates if there are no other dogs in his forever home because he loves having fun with his furry friends. He also enjoys engaging in mental stimulation activities with his human, like hide and treat or training activities that include treats. While he enjoys playing with his doggy and human friends, he’s also perfectly content to entertain himself with his favorite toys when he can't find anyone to play with. When he's ready for some down time, he will find a comfy spot in the living room to relax and chew on a bone. He would love to go on fun adventures exploring nature trails and going on longer hikes with his humans. He's the type of pup that would thrive in an active family that enjoys the outdoors, but also enjoys some lazy days cuddling on the couch too. His ideal home will have a toy box full of squeaky toys, ropes, and chew toys, and he’d be thrilled to have a BarkBox subscription to keep the fun going with new surprises every month.
Spencer is dog and kid friendly. He loves other furry friends and would love to have another playful dog in his forever home. He has been around dogs ranging in age from young to senior, and all different sizes. He absolutely loves dogs and would love to have other dogs in his forever home. He would be perfectly fine being the only dog in the home, but he would benefit from having frequent play dates with other dogs and has perfect play etiquette. Spencer has met and interacted with multiple children. He loves to be loved and cuddled on, and is super gentle, so he would be great with kids of all ages Since he is very fun-loving, cuddly, and sweet, he would do great with a family with kids who want a loving and playful pup to grow up with. Because of his young age and gentle demeanor, he would be able to acclimate to having a cat in his forever home with slow introductions. Since he is a playful puppy, he would do best with dog-friendly cats that have lived with dogs before and don't mind correcting him when needed to teach him personal space.
Spencer is leash trained, kennel trained, and potty trained. He walks like a perfect gentleman on the leash and does not pull at all on his walks. He does great walking in busy public places, and is always happy to encounter other people and dogs on his walks. He does not have accidents inside and will notify you that he needs to go outside by standing at the door. He does need to have a consistent schedule for potty breaks until he gets on a good routine initially, but once he learns his new schedule, he can go longer in between potty breaks. He sleeps in a kennel setup at night with no fuss, but he usually has to be encouraged with a yummy treat to go in for the night. He would love to snuggle up in bed with his humans every night so he can get in as many cuddles as possible. He does not like to be kenneled when his humans are home, but is fine hanging out behind a baby gate if his humans need to contain him at home if needed. He would love to have a human that works from home or can take him to a dog-friendly office each day, but if they work out of the home and can't take him to work, he'd love to go to doggy day care a few days a week.
Spencer's ideal home would be one where he can be included in his family’s daily life and get plenty of love, exercise, and cuddle time. He would love to live in a home with a fenced yard to run and play in, but he’d be perfectly content in an apartment, condo, or townhouse as long as he gets regular walks and playtime. He currently lives in a foster home in an apartment and does great because his foster mom works from home and can take him out for short energy burning sessions on her lunch break. He would prefer to have someone home most of the day or that's able to take him to the office if working a hybrid schedule as he loves to be with his humans and is a perfect gentleman in public too. He would thrive in a home with other dogs and kids to run around and play with, and can even coexist with some kitties in the home too. If he is the only dog in the home, he would benefit from going to doggy day care to help him burn his puppy energy, continue socializing, and playing with his doggy friends. No public dog parks for this sweet boy (who wants to risk your pup catching a disease or being bullied on by other random dogs anyways), but he would love to have fun adventures at Sniff Spots or doggy day care occasionally for playtime and exercise if he does live in an apartment, condo, or townhouse without a private fenced-in yard. Spencer is ready to find a forever family who will love him just as much as he’ll love them. With his gentle heart, playful spirit, and endless cuddles to give, he’s sure to bring joy and laughter to every day.

Please be advised that our dogs are adopted to their forever families prior to being transported. To ensure we are honoring the dogs that we have committed to helping, we do have policies and procedures in place that we follow when reviewing adoption applications. LAPP Dog Rescue is ran 100% by volunteers, so please be mindful that when you submit an application that it can take a few days to be reviewed. Submitting an application is not a confirmation that the adoption will be approved/completed. Before submitting the application, please read the FULL description on PetFinder describing the dog's personality, energy level, housing requirements and our policy on meet and greets.
The cost to adopt is $530 - $550, depending on where she is transported to.
