We brought Fairbanks (Banksy) home from IcareSTL two weeks ago as a foster, and he has adjusted very well to our home. He is an ~80 lb Bull Terrier/Boxer mix who is very sweet and enjoys spending time relaxing on the sofa while looking outside. He loves being petted and brushed and is always eager to give kisses.
Fairbanks eats well and is fully housebroken. In addition to his regular food, he enjoys occasional treats like hard-boiled eggs and orange slices, which he eats from his bowl. When left alone at home, he remains calm and quiet until we return, and he sleeps peacefully through the night.
His interactions with people have been great, including with our three teenage boys. In his short time with us, he has learned to respond to his name, to “sit,” and to understand household boundaries, he quickly learned which sofa was off-limits and where he is allowed to sit. He is intelligent and seems quite trainable with the right approach.
We would love to introduce Fairbanks to anyone who is considering giving a permanent home to this very deserving dog.
