If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
Ernie is a sweet, fun loving dog that is very young for her age (8 years old)! She loves to fetch her ball and will do acrobatics in pursuit. She loves kids and basking in the sun. She still has the energy for a long walk but she also loves to chill around the house and car rides/adventures. She lives with two young girls, ages 3 and 6 who adore her. We are heartbroken to re-home her.
Ernie is a protective dog and will bark at large cars and unknown strangers that walk past our house. She recently aggressively jumped on and clawed our elderly neighbor when she entered our yard. We are uncertain whether she bit her or if she tore the skin from her claws, but she cannot be safely around our neighbor. This was the first time she has ever attacked a person and we have spoken with a trainer that believes it was from a fear response. For Ernie's security and our neighbor's we have been informed it would be best to re-home her. Looking for a new happy home for our beloved pup.
