Amaya was originally a “trap cat,” meaning she lived on the streets until she was humanely trapped while pregnant and brought to an overcrowded municipal shelter before being brought in by EHS. After arriving in EHS’s care, this frightened dark grey girl gave birth to a litter of kittens, and became a fiercely protective mama cat. Her stressful early life left her understandably shy, but as she settled into her loving foster home and realized that her foster mom was not a threat to her or her kittens, she began to open up and discover the joys of human affection.
ABOUT AMAYA - In foster - Amaya is still a bit reserved, but she is warming up to human contact. As her foster mom says, “she is very friendly once she trusts you.” - The way to this girl’s heart is through the back-scratcher! Amaya loves to be stroked on her head and cheeks and has recently started accepting pets by hand. One day at a time, sweet girl. - She loves the resident cat in her foster home and can often be seen cuddled up next to him. With her feline companion, Amaya is more confident and willing to accept that human affection is safe. - Amaya is curious and inquisitive toward this new indoor life. - She is quite interested in the wand toy and other small soft toys that she can chase or pounce on. - Amaya is spayed, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, SNAP-tested for FIV/FeLV, and is up to date on core vaccinations.
AMAYA’S IDEAL HOME - Amaya gets along with compatible cats and requires a home with at least one feline friend. - Given her sometimes skittish nature, she would do best in a home without small children. - We are unsure of her history with dogs.
Will you be the one to give Amaya her forever home? Schedule a meet and greet with this beautiful girl today and see why we’ve all fallen head over heels in love with this gentle soul.
