My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi… I’m Mochi. I’m a tiny kitten with a big heart—though I’m still learning how to show it. New places and new people are pretty scary for me, so when I’m nervous I might hiss or give a little spit. I don’t mean to be rude… it’s just my way of saying, “I’m overwhelmed right now.” What I really want is a calm, quiet home where I can take my time to feel safe. If you move slowly, speak softly, and let me come to you at my own pace, I’ll start to peek out from my hiding spots. I might even sit near you… then maybe on you… and one day, you’ll hear my purr rumble like a tiny engine. I’m not the kind of kitten who will be brave on day one, but with patience, gentle love, and a little bit of TLC, I promise I’ll blossom. I’m looking for someone who can see past my scaredy-cat start and help me grow into the sweet, trusting friend I know I can be. If you’re a kind, patient human with a soft spot for shy souls, maybe we can take this journey together.

The Windsor/Essex County Humane Society was founded in 1926 and incorporated in 1949. The Humane Society has a publicly-tendered contract with the City of Windsor to provide animal control and basic shelter services in the City.
