My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Animal Profile:  FOSTER NEEDED  Email jenny@doggoneseattle.org Animal Information: Louie is an estimated 2 year old, male, hound mix currently weighing approximately 60 lbs. He has lived in Washington after coming from Louisiana in April 2024. He has lived with kids and another dog but he may do better without another dog in the home. We do not know how Louie would do with cats. He has been described as a dog with a lot of energy so an active person or family would be a good fit for him.

Foster Profile: Louie is a resilient 2024 parvo survivor from Louisiana who has grown into a happy, affectionate and eager to please young dog. He's crate trained, house trained, and walks great on leash. Louie is friendly meeting new people, and has lived harmoniously with two children (8 and 11), whom he adores. Louie has also attended doggy daycare, where he received glowing feedback for his behavior and temperament. He is playful, cuddly, and always ready for adventure...especially when there is a cozy nap on the couch afterwards.  Louie's current family made the decision to reheome him due to a few food related conflicts with their senior 15lb dog. Outside of those moments, Louie has done well in the home, but may be happiest as an only dog or with a family committed to careful management around mealtimes.  If you are looking for an affectionate, active companion who loves both playtime and snuggle time, Louie might be your perfect match!

Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations Rabies and DPPV per AVMA standards, any indicated preventative care, microchip with lifetime registration, and recent health check with a veterinarian. Adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 organization (ID 81-5101166). Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was surrendered to our rescue, arriving to foster care on 11/25/2025.
