My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

FOSTER NEEDED

Email jenny@doggoneseattle.org

Animal Profile:  Louie is an estimated 2 year old neutered male mixed breed currently weighing approximately 60 lbs. He has lived in Washington after coming from Louisiana in April 2024. He has lived with kids and a small dog and generally gets along well with other dogs. He gets excellent reports from Paradise Pet Lodge doggy daycare on his social skills and is not leash reactive to other dogs. Louie has not been evaluated with cats and would need slow introductions. Louie is great with kids. He is a bit shy first meeting new people and could work on his confidence but is generally social and friendly with no history of human aggression. He does have a lot of energy and is an athletic boy. He has good basic training.

Foster Profile: Louie is a resilient 2024 parvo survivor from Louisiana who has grown into a happy, affectionate and eager to please young dog. He's crate trained, house trained, and walks great on leash. Louie is friendly meeting new people, and has lived harmoniously with two children (8 and 11), whom he adores. Louie has also attended doggy daycare, where he received glowing feedback for his behavior and temperament. He is playful, cuddly, and always ready for adventure...especially when there is a cozy nap on the couch afterwards.  Louie's current family made the decision to reheome him due to a few food related conflicts with their senior 15lb dog. Outside of those moments, Louie has done well in the home, but may be happiest as an only dog or with a family committed to careful management around mealtimes. Louie does not exhibit any resource guarding toward humans. If you are looking for an affectionate, active companion who loves both playtime and snuggle time, Louie might be your perfect match!

Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations Rabies and DPPV per AVMA standards, any indicated preventative care, microchip with lifetime registration, and recent health check with a veterinarian. Adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 organization (ID 81-5101166).

Animal History: This dog arrived to Seattle from Caddo Parish shelter in Louisiana in April 2024 and was adopted as a puppy after surviving parvo. His family decided to return him after an incident with the small senior dog in the home regarding kitchen space. The small senior dog was injured but did not require vet care. Louie is currently being cared for in Bothell and available for adoption in the greater Seattle area.
