My name is Kalinda!

Come meet me and 100+ of my adoptable friends at Louie's Legacy Animal Rescue's MEGA adoption event, Home for the Holidays! Saturday, December 13th, 2025 at Paradise Island in Staten Island from 11am - 3pm!

Meet Kalinda! She’s a 7-year-old, 12-pound Chihuahua who would love to spend the rest of her days surrounded by her entourage, doing what she does best: lounging and looking good. She’s also an excellent snack-sharer! With many years of experience perfecting her sitting and judging, she expects her forever home to match her energy and uphold the highest standards of cleanliness. But fret not—she’ll do her part. She’s housebroken and crate trained, and she’ll help you discover the best sunbathing spots in the home (her favorite course at Barkley College was “How to Move the Least When the Sun Moves the Most”).

When the sun does force her to relocate, that’s when you’ll see the most activity out of her. She’ll head outside and stay out as long as her beloved sunshine does. Cardio, though? Absolutely not. She’ll be grumpier than usual if a stroll interrupts her regularly scheduled “nap ’n snack” session. She does get the occasional burst of energy outside—you might even witness a zoomie or two—but don’t expect them often!

Otherwise, this little lady prefers to take life at her own pace. There are no kids in her foster home, so she’s not entirely sure whether they can meet her high standards for lounging. She’ll be extra judgey until they prove they’re just as dedicated to relaxing as she is. Once they do, she’ll gladly welcome them into the upper ranks of her fan club and make more public appearances. (Fans who try to force their way into her inner circle may be met with some displeasure and will have a harder time earning her trust.)

Kalinda has very high standards for anyone lucky enough to become her companion. If you think you’re ready for a low-maintenance soulmate who naps like it’s her full-time job (because it is!), submit your application now!

All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.
