Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Mr. Hades is a 5.5-year-old shepherd/mastiff mix with kind and slightly droopy eyes, pointy ears, and a handsome salt-and-pepper muzzle that perfectly matches his gentle soul. This adorably big goofball was surrendered from a loving home through no fault of his own and is now ready to settle back into a family where he can give (and receive) all the love he has to offer.
Despite his intimidating size, Hades is truly one of the sweetest dogs you’ll ever meet. He can be a little wary of strangers at first, but once he realizes you’re a friend, he transforms into a gigantic baby who lives for affection. He loves leaning into his people for pets, eventually flopping over to offer his belly for rubs. One of his favorite moves is gently jumping up to put his paws on your shoulders for a hug—maybe not perfect manners, but undeniably adorable. Expect snoot boops, the occasional happy lick, and a loyal companion who will curl up at your feet for a snooze. Hades is very much a velcro dog and happiest when he’s close to his humans.
Hades gets along wonderfully with other dogs and enjoys playing, especially with dogs closer to his size. He’s also perfectly content to relax nearby, happily chewing on a bone while you go about your day. As a true gentle giant, he does well with cats, dogs, and kids alike.
He is fully potty-trained, knows his basic commands, and is crate-trained, though he does experience some separation and crate anxiety. Our team is working with him daily, and he’s making steady progress as he learns that being alone is safe and temporary.
Hades would thrive in a home looking for a goofy, affectionate, gentle giant to shower with love, attention, and plenty of treats. If you’re ready for a loyal shadow with a heart of gold, Hades may be your perfect match.
