My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there! My name is Mahina, and I’m a sweet little girl looking for my forever home. I’m gentle, affectionate, and full of love. Once I feel safe with you, I’ll stick close and happily soak up all the snuggles you’re willing to give.

You might notice that I have a bit of hair loss on my tail, but don’t worry, we’re already working on it, and I’m feeling better every day. It doesn’t slow me down one bit, and it certainly doesn’t change how loving and friendly I am. I just want someone who sees my heart, not my haircut!

I’m the kind of dog who wants to be your quiet companion, your cozy couch buddy, and your sweet-faced friend who watches the world with you. If you’re looking for a gentle soul with endless love to share, I’d be so happy to meet you. I can’t wait to find the family who will help me continue healing and give me all the care and affection I’ve been waiting for. Adopt me today!

More about this shelter

The Oahu SPCA was founded in April of 2009 and launched its mission, "Every healthy, treatable animal will find a forever home." The overwhelming support of community members was instrumental in helping to establish the first animal shelter in the state of Hawaii with a "no-kill philosophy." On July 18, 2009, 432 animals were relinquished to the Oahu SPCA the Largest Animal Rescue in the history of Hawaii. The Oahu SPCA rescued all 432 animals in 48 hours after the owner of an animal sanctuary in Waianae passes away.
