Whisper is gentle, loving, playful and full of energy! She came to us at just a few weeks old and now, at just over a year and a half, we're not sure that she will ever be adopted. And that's ok, because this girl, more than most, needs us to find just the right adopter.
As a baby, she lost half of her littermates to Fading Kitten Syndrome and was sick right along with them, but she survived. She is deceptively one tough little girl! We believe that this early health issue is the reason that she is our Forever Kitten, likely to be smaller than average for all of her life.
At her first vet visit, a 1/6 heart murmur was discovered. Her age and FKS struggle made us set that issue aside, with the hope that it might resolve on its own. It has not.
In the meantime, she is, by all appearances, a typical kitten-ish young cat! She wrassles every cat and every toy she meets, runs and jumps and climbs... every indication says that she is a healthy girl. Still, that murmur. An echocardiogram is likely in her near future, as soon as funding allows.
Whisper is never going to be a large cat, so we call her our Forever Kitten. She's small and so very much a cuddler! Whisper will climb into your lap and onto your chest, for a snooze with her face buried against your warmth. She also enjoys getting under blankets and curling up in the arms of her person.
Whisper is not demanding, but will not do well as an only cat. She seeks as much attention and affection from other cats as she does from people. Her ideal companion, at the moment, is a cat who will groom her, let her groom them, and is about 2-5 years old.
She has done very well with a Mom and Dad arrangement - a male and female who both lavish her with attention - so she doesn't have a gender preference, just a preference for being loved. Whisper was raised by Peanut, our kitten-whisperer dog, and would do well with a cat-friendly dog who can be gentle and can engage in a bit of chase without the threat of CATCH.
Whisper is food adventurous and really enjoys sneaking a taste of human foods (spaghetti was interesting!), so guard your ice cream! She loves chasing balls across the house and soft toys, especially the ones with feathers or fur.
She's absolutely beautiful and her personality is every bit as gentle, dainty and cuddly as she looks. If you happen to work from home, Whisper would love to attend your Zoom meetings, but cannot promise to be awake through them!

We always do everything we can to make every adoption as smooth as possible and offer foster-to-adopt as a way for you to get to know your chosen pet before officially adopting.

Because our cats live in foster homes, each meeting has to be arranged individually and with the foster's schedule in mind. We're happy to arrange a meeting or answer any questions, at any time.

More about this rescue
We accept surrendered cats and kittens, to help insure that they get safely adopted. We also work to remove young cats from the street to reduce the outdoor cat population. The majority of our cats live in foster homes, so that they're comfortable in a home environment from the start. We are a small rescue and are always looking for fosters, trappers and donations! We value the life of every and will go the extra mile to be sure they all get that.
