Cow was born outside, then was difficult to socialize because his mother was present and VERY protective of her litter of four.
After finally being separated from his mom (and from one sibling), it took a month for him to give in and come forward at treat time.
Still, he had never, for a moment, given up his distrust, unless he was getting a lickable treat. Then he'd accept that being touched was the price of the treat.
Until THIS moment, he'd never been seen with a toy, never really cared for human things other than those that kept him alive.
Cow is such a beautiful boy. He's got an uncommonly long body and long silly hair that's a joy to run your fingers through. Even when he's scared, he'll only slap your hand with a soft paw. He's starting to seek attention, too, which is so new that it makes me sniffle every time.
Cow accepts the presence of other cats but is cautious about who he gets close to. He also agrees that Peanut (his foster-dog-mother) exists and has the right to exist... as long as they can move very slowly toward friendliness! 🤣 They've touched noses once.
If you are incredibly patient and have a home to offer him, while you love him through all his anxiety, I'm certain that he will grow into the luxuriant lap cat that he was always meant to be, in time.

We always do everything we can to make every adoption as smooth as possible and offer foster-to-adopt as a way for you to get to know your chosen pet before officially adopting.

Because our cats live in foster homes, each meeting has to be arranged individually and with the foster's schedule in mind. We're happy to arrange a meeting or answer any questions, at any time.

More about this rescue
We accept surrendered cats and kittens, to help insure that they get safely adopted. We also work to remove young cats from the street to reduce the outdoor cat population. The majority of our cats live in foster homes, so that they're comfortable in a home environment from the start. We are a small rescue and are always looking for fosters, trappers and donations! We value the life of every and will go the extra mile to be sure they all get that.
