My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

A5738065 Meet Dapper , a 4-year-old Doberman Pinscher boy with the classic, stunning looks that Dobie lovers dream of - long, lean, silky coat, legs for days, and a refined snoot just begging for boops. Though he’s scared and shut down at the shelter, it’s clear he longs to connect deeply with his people - don’t let his timidness fool you! Sweet, loving, and full of gentle affection, he happily accepts treats, hugs, and kisses when approached calmly and clearly. Dapper may need a slow introduction to both people and other pups, but he softens quickly and is eager to please. He’ll show off a strong “sit” and “down” for yummy treats, making training a joy for someone patient and consistent. This handsome boy would thrive with an experienced owner ready to help him feel safe, confident, and adored. Will that be with you?

-4 year old black and brown Doberman Pinscher

-59 pound male - not neutered due to a little doggy cold, so will need to be adopted on a trust waiver promising to have him neutered as soon as he’s well enough to do so

-up to date on all shots and preventatives, so ready to go home with you today! However, he did pick up a little doggy cold at the shelter, so will need to be adopted on a health waiver - adopter to follow up with own vet for further diagnostics and potential treatment

-came to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on 11/11/25 as a stray

-great on leash, clearly potty trained, may be good with other dogs with careful intros, and knows basic commands so would be a good candidate for learning more

-would do best with more experienced pet owners to help build his feelings of safety, trust, and confidence in himself and the world around him

More about this rescue

United Hope for Animals is a 501c3 non-profit organization committed to creating a world where our relationship with animals is guided by compassion and responsibility. We actively work toward bringing an end to the needless suffering of companion animals through community-based programs here at home and across the border.

The United States euthanizes more than one million dogs and cats each year. Through our Shelter Support Program, we work in partnership with local shelters to reduce this number by raising public awareness about shelter adoption and facilitating rescue and adoption of sheltered animals. In the process, we bring dignity and hope to the many lives that would otherwise pass anonymously through the animal control system.
