My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

DOB: August 13, 2021

True to her namesake, Dr. Goodall is an avid explorer. When met with a new environment, this dignified tabby makes careful observations as she takes note of the new sounds and sights around her. She began her foster journey with a shy and cautious nature but simply needed a calm and patient home to help her build trust. While still working on this, Dr. Goodall is becoming more comfortable with each new day.

She would thrive in a quiet home where she is sure to warm up into the loving sweetheart she was born to be. When feeling at ease, Dr. Goodall shows gentle affection by rubbing her head on your feet, or gently leaning into your legs. Currently, Dr. Goodall does not enjoy being picked up and held, and is sensitive around her paws, so best to speak with her vet on nail trim advice. She does however, enjoy being pet gently on her head, and is simply looking for a calm and understanding adopter who will respect her boundaries and read her subtle kitty cues when it's time to give her space.

Because she's easily startled by new sounds or movements, Dr. Goodall is best suited in a home without children. It's not known what she is like around other pets. Dr. Goodall is very playful, and is particularly fond of a "da bird" cat wand and play mat combo. She'll dash across the room and slide into the play mat to hunt and chase the wand toy. When it comes to meal time, Dr.Goodall has a slight preference for wet food, which she grazes on throughout the day. On occasion, Dr. Goodall requires a bit of reassurance and gentle pets before she takes a few nibbles. She absolutely devour churu treats, however, which are a great way to win her heart.

Dr. Goodall is absolutely adorable and it has been so heartwarming to see her become more comfortable and affectionate in the short time she's been in foster care. While still a bit on the shy side, she has made remarkable progress that is sure to continue in a nice quiet home with a parent that respects her boundaries. While she hasn't show any lap cat tendencies, she will join you on the couch for a short hello and head scratch. Dr. Goodall is simply just waiting to open up into a sweet and loving little lady that she is once she's found her loving forever home. Additional adoption info

Adoption fee is $225 per adult cat, and $300 for kittens (under 8 months old).

This ensures that the cats that come into our care receive the attention they need, are spayed or neutered, and receive a rabies vaccination at the appropriate age. For City of Toronto residents, the adoption fee includes a mandatory City of Toronto cat license that is valid for one year. As you can imagine, these fees only begin to cover our costs; donations and ongoing fundraising efforts carry us the rest of the way!

Note:
-Senior cats (8 years or older) have an adoption fee of the adopter's choice, vs. our standard adult adoption fee of $225.
-Our adoption fee for an adult bonded pair (8 months or older) is $175 per cat vs. $225 per cat. Thanks for giving two loving friends a home together!
