Athena was adopted from a local rescue when her mother came into the rescue pregnant...with 11 siblings! I met her at an acquaintances' home who was fostering her as a 3 mos old puppy & fell in love. I took her home w/in a couple of weeks to be company for my older lab when I'm away from home as he has anxiety. Unfortunately, they haven't bonded so I have to keep them separate. Even more unfortunate, & very unexpected, is that after 23 yrs I & my division colleagues lost our federal jobs this summer & I’ve not found another position to date. With support coming to an end w/in the 1st 1/4 of 2026, & I'm not sure how I will pay my mortgage much less buy dog food or pay for vaccinations, it’s best for Athena’s youth & sweet nature for another secure home to give her a family she deserves. She’s very sweet, could benefit from some training, & would make a wonderful family addition!
