`Hey! Hey you there! You`re in my way. My name is Toni, but since I don`t really know you yet, you can use my full name, Rigatoni. I`ve been staying at this house for a couple weeks, with these people who feed me. I continue to yell and hiss at them but they just don`t seem to understand that I don`t really *want* to be touched....or pet....or talked to in a sweet voice. I`m a tough guy and yet this woman...she dares pet me every morning, scratching behind my ears, like I`m supposed to like it or something. So I guess I`m looking for a way outta here. What am I looking for? Well, I like friends. Being by myself is a little weird, so cat friends would be good. Those small humans? Probably not my cup of tea since I`m such a tough guy and they can get handsy and well...you know how I feel about touching. I could deal with older kids though, I guess. Ok. I`ve said what I need to but before we meet this lady I`ve been staying with would like to say something.....`
Hi readers, this is Toni`s foster mom. You know....the one who feeds him, and pets him and talks to him in a sweet voice? He thinks he`s tough and scary but in reality, he`s a softy. Those scratches behind the ears? He really digs them and leans into them. That hissing he does while I pet him? What he didn`t tell you was that he flops over so I can continue to pet him while he`s hissing at me. So he talks a big game but in reality, he`s just a teenage cat who suddenly found himself yanked from the streets and in a foster home and is working through big feelings. He loves other cats and string toys. Small kiddos might not be his jam (see above for all the tough talking) but older ones who understand boundaries would be ok. He is easily bribed with treats (although he will hiss in between bites of food). If you`d like to meet Toni please email milwaukeecuratored@gmail.com to set up a time to meet him and be hissed at in person!
