Meet the Pet
Take the Pet Home
- Social guy who will come right up to you for petting and treats
- Active but seems to settle in once the initial playtime is done
- LOVES squeaky toys and will carry them around happily, showing them off to everyone; prefers carrying his toys to playing fetch with them and has been good about trading his toys for treats
- Knows sit and appears to have some manners; does not tend to jump up on people, even when playing
- Was fully housetrained and crate-trained in his previous home; just remember that any dog may need time to get used to a new routine
- Loves going on walks and does best with a harness
- Lived with school-age children and did well with them
- Enjoys being around like-minded dogs, but has a history of not wanting other animals near his food and water bowls or his toys; may enjoy dog friends outside his home, but needs to be the only dog in his new home
- Needs a home with no cats and no small animals
- Had an eye removed a few years ago due to trauma, but it doesn't hold him back from doing anything he wants to do
All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age)
The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label.
