Here's what the humans have to say about me:
My name is Angel but my foster mom and dad call me Angelo. I’m an approximately 3 year old 17lb male poodle/ Maltese mix. Since arriving in Toronto from Mexico I have settled in to my foster home very well. I love going on walks and sniffing all the new smells, but I also love curling up next to my foster mom and dad on the sofa.
While my foster mom is working, I curl up under her desk on my special bed. It can take me a little bit of time to warm up to new people and new environments, and I will seem a little bit aloof until I'm feeling more comfortable.
When I know it's time to get my supper or go on a walk, I get so excited that I will dance with my paws in the air! I walk beautifully on a leash (no pulling) and have had no accidents in the house at all. My foster mom says that I am as close to a perfect dog as any dog can be. I can be groomed and handled and remain calm and relaxed. I am quiet and polite and secure. My foster mom calls me her little man.
I would do well with a family that is able to take me out on lots of walks and allow me to warm up to them at my own pace. I do very well with the other dogs but will give overly- friendly dogs a warning if they are too intrusive. I would do very well in a house with another calm dog or as the only dog. My foster mom is not sure how I will be with cats, however I have shown a calm curiosity of other cats when I've visited the vet.
Although I like having my people in sight, I'm a pretty independent guy and am happy to relax in my own space, especially when there is a lot of commotion or there are new people around. When my foster mom or dad leaves the house for an errand, I settle down quickly. I am not worried about being left alone for short periods of time. I am no to low shedding and will need daily brushing and regular grooming to keep my coat handsome. I will be a great companion for my furever family.

As my foster family gets to know me my profile can change and will be updated accordingly. Check back often for details! An application for me can be found at www.justpaws.ca.
Just Paws is located in the Greater Toronto Area of Ontario, Canada. We do not adopt out of province or country.
Please note that although many of our dogs get along with children, we are not able to adopt to any household with kids under the age of 8 years old. This is a stipulation of our insurance and is not a reflection on suitability of the potential adopter.

Our mission is to rescue and rehome unwanted, abandoned, abused and unloved pets that find themselves alone and frightened in shelters. These animals give unconditional love and should receive the same love back. Unfortunately there is a need and while ever there is a need we will be there to help. Our long term goal is to build towards the opening of our own shelter and be able to help with behavioral issues, special needs, and to offer a haven to less adoptable pets. We are always very thankful for any pet related donations to assist the animals in our care
