My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Raff!
Raff is a 6-year-old beauty with a gentle soul. She was recently surrendered back to us after being adopted as a kitten, due to circumstances beyond her control. Raff is shy at first, but she is incredibly sweet and loving once she feels safe.

Right now, she’s a little confused about why she’s back, but with patience, a calm home, and lots of gentle love, she’s ready to bloom again. Raff would thrive in a quiet, understanding household where she can feel secure and cherished.

Our cat room is open 7 days a week from 12pm to 430pm at 2960 Shafto Road Tinton Falls.

More about this shelter

The Associated Humane Societies rescues stray and homeless animals, both domestic and wildlife, providing quality care and sanctuary until loving homes can be found. As a community-based organization, we provide low-cost veterinary care and humane education to promote responsible pet guardianship throughout New Jersey.

For over a century we have offered a haven to abused and neglected animals. Founded in 1906, AHS is the largest animal sheltering system in New Jersey, operating three shelters located in Newark, Forked River, and Tinton Falls. Our Forked River facility also includes Popcorn Park. Established in 1977, Popcorn Park is a sanctuary for abandoned, injured, ill, exploited, abused, or elderly wildlife, exotic and farm animals, and birds.

The Society is a not-for-profit, 501(c)3 organization and we take pride in our devotion to the thousands of animals that come through our doors looking for a better life.

Please visit our website AHSCares.org for additional information.
