My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi friends! My name is Reaper and I am about 2.5 years old! I am a friendly boy that is excited to find my furever home! I'm a very curious dog so don't expect me to interact right away, I just like to take in my environment which includes smelling all the new smells. As soon as I am done checking out my surroundings I will definitely love to play! I like to play tug the most but watch your arms because I'm not very coordinated and have been known to accidently get people on the arms (no worries I let go right away) I don't have an aggressive bone in my body and don't mind if you take food or toys from me (a bad habit so don't just take things but if its something I'm not supposed to have you are safe to take it from me) I will need to work on my manners but no worries I am highly treat motivated. I'm a fun guy to take out and walk so grab a leash and learn a little more about me!Give the shelter a call at (574) 267-3008 or email them at info@awlwarsaw.com if you have any questions about me! If not, stop by the shelter at 1048 S 325 E in Pierceton, IN 46562 to look at me! No appointments necessary!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
The procedure for adopting one of our animals is as follows:

You walk in, either by appointment or as a walk-in, and our adoption tech will take you to meet the pets. If any of the animals interest you, you can take them out of their cages and spend time with them in a cuddle room or take a walk outside with them (for dogs). Our staff will then answer any questions you may have, explain our trial adoption process to you (explained below) and help you decide if this pet is the perfect fit for your family!

If you are adopting a dog and there is another dog in your home, we ask you to come back for an assisted meet and greet with your current pet!

You then sign our contract and staff will approve of it before asking for your ID and method of payment. Once we have all of the information we need, you can take your pet home! It's that easy!

We try to make the adoption process simple and enjoyable for you and your new pet. Please come in for a visit and give us a try!

Trial Adoption: We highly recommend our trial adoption program where you pay for the pet up front (there is no extra fee for the trial) and then take it home for about 5-7 days (we are flexible with this) to see how it fits in with your lifestyle and other pets in the home. If everything works out, great, just call us and let us know you want to finalize and that is when you receive the microchip number and medical papers as well as a goody bag! If it doesn't work out, you bring the pet back and you will receive a full refund.

Nursery Nanny Program: We also offer a nursery nanny program for our kittens! If you find one you like, you can take it home the same day even if it is not spayed/neutered yet. We ask that you bring it back for the kitten's spay/neuter date and if it needs to return for any vaccinations! We don't finalize the adoption until the kitten has been spayed/neutered and caught up on vaccines.

ADOPTION FEES: $180 for puppies under 9 months, $150 for dogs up to 5 years, $75 for senior dogs, $105 for kittens under 9 months, $95 for adult cats up to 5 years and $65 for senior cats.

Fees include: spay/neuter, microchip & registration, initial vaccines for the year, including the rabies vaccine, and flea & tick and heartworm preventatives
