My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Parker was brought in by their previous owner on 12/5/2025.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Parker is a handsome and loyal dog looking for a loving, committed home. He has shown a naturally protective nature, and he thrives with an adopter who can provide structure, clear guidance, and continued training.
Parker benefits from slow, positive introductions to new people and environments. Once he feels secure, he forms strong bonds with his trusted humans. He would do best with an adopter who can help him build confidence and reinforce calm behavior through consistency, enrichment, and regular exercise.
Parker is intelligent, eager to learn, and responds well to training. With patience and the right support, he has the potential to be a wonderful companion. He's ready for someone who understands his needs and is excited to help him succeed.

At SDHS:
Parker has been vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. Parker is now ready for his new home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
