My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

https://foha.org/pet/buttercup2025/

🌟 Meet Buttercup!

Hi, I’m Buttercup, a soft, tender-hearted girl with a shy but loving soul. I came to FOHA from a property with over 40 cats, and while that start was overwhelming, I’ve shown that underneath it all I’m a truly sweet companion.

I may take a little extra time to feel comfortable in new situations, but once I do, I really enjoy being held and gently pet. There’s something about calm affection that helps me feel safe, and I’ll happily soak it up when I trust you. I’m quiet, gentle, and appreciative of patience, the kind of cat who blossoms when given kindness and consistency.

🐾 A Few of My Favorite Things:

Being held, gentle pets, quiet moments, cozy spaces, and spending time with my trusted people.

🏡 What I’m Looking For:

I’d do best in a calm, understanding home where I can continue to build confidence at my own pace. If you’re interested in adopting two cats, my friend Elodie(https://foha.org/pet/elodie2025/) came from the same home, and we do very well together, having a familiar feline friend by my side makes the world feel a little less scary.

If you have another cat or a dog in the home, I will go home as foster with intent to adopt so you can see how things go and make sure it’s a good fit for everyone.

💛 Ready to fall in love?
If you believe the quietest hearts often love the deepest, I just might be your girl.
