Meet East: The Cat With the Voice of a Philosopher and the Drama of a Soap Opera Star

ID: A0059875435 * Age: 2 years * Status: Ready to Grace Your Home

East is a Siamese cat who looks like he wandered out of a Renaissance painting and into your heart. With his buff-and-black coat and soulful eyes, he’s got the aesthetic of a brooding poet, but don’t be fooled. He’s also got the comedic timing of a stand-up comic and the snack radar of a bloodhound.
At 2 years old and a healthy 9.5 pounds, East is neutered, active, and ready to be adopted. He’s currently residing at Everett Animal Shelter, where he’s been practicing his dramatic monologues (mostly meows) and perfecting his “I’m not stuck, I meant to climb into this drawer” routine.
East’s talents include:

Yelling at closed doors like they owe him money.
Staring into space like he’s solving quantum physics.
Expert biscuit-making (on blankets, laps, and occasionally your tax documents).
Being both mysterious and clingy-he’s a cat of contradictions.

He was found as a stray, but East clearly believes he was meant for a life of luxury. He’s looking for a human who appreciates deep conversations (mostly one-sided), warm laps, and the occasional existential stare.
If you’re ready to adopt a cat who’s equal parts philosopher, diva, and cuddlebug, East is waiting to meet you. Come say hi before he writes a memoir.

Additional adoption info

We've got awesome dogs, cats and other critters waiting for new families to come and adopt! The adoption process begins online, and all adoptions are done by appointment only. To reduce the animals' overall stress levels, we have decided to limit animal viewing to those people with appointments for specific animals.

How it works:

1. Check out our available animals online. If you see an animal you’re interested in, fill out that species adoption questionnaire at https://www.everettwa.gov/161/Adopt-a-Pet to start the adoption process. Please be sure to include the name of the animal that you are interested in adopting. Questionnaires will only be reviewed if a specific animal is identified. You aren't obligated to adopt that pet, but it's a place to start.

2. Our staff will review your questionnaire and contact you to discuss the adoption. Please note that it often takes several days before you are contacted. We appreciate your patience! (If it has been longer than one week and you haven’t heard from us, please email us.)

3. Most animals will be available to go home the same day as the adoption meeting.

Adoptions by Appointment
Our shelter is currently closed for general animal viewing, but we’ve still got awesome dogs, cats and other critters waiting for new families to come and adopt them. To help keep our staff, volunteers and community healthy, we are now providing adoptions by appointment. This enables us to comply with social distancing guidelines while still finding loving homes for the pets in our care.
