•Intake Reason: Stray •Socialization: Unsocialized to people •WCHS recommends I am an: Outdoor cat
Working cats are incredible members of the outdoor community. They provide companionship to their caretakers while playing a vital role in rodent and disease control. These cats thrive in environments where they can patrol barns, garages, sheds, or other outdoor spaces, keeping pests at bay and bringing balance to the ecosystem.
To adopt a working cat, caretakers should have a secure space like a large wire dog crate or tack room to house the cat for at least two weeks after adoption, giving them time to adjust to their new home. They should be given food and water daily.
Adopting a working cat means welcoming a hardworking, independent companion who will thrive in your outdoor space while keeping pests under control. -- All working cat adoptions are name your own price. They come spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and with a left ear tip. If you`re interested in adopting me as an outdoor cat, please fill out an application online on the working cat page.

Visit the shelter. We have an application that takes about 15 minutes to fill out once you have found a pet you like. You call back the next day which gives us time to review the application and gives you 24 hours to think about your decision to adopt. You can also complete our on-line application and get approved in advance of finding the perfect companion. Once approved, you are able to adopt an animal the same day.
