Linus here! While he may not carry that classic blue blanket, he does carry is a whole lot of cat-titude. He is 4 years old and does all the things cats love to do: playing, roaming, and rubbing on you only to act like he hates you moments later. Linus is our sweet and moody boy who never fails to make us laugh. Don't take any of his means streaks personally; just think of it of him putting on an act to hide the fact that he really admires you. He's an independent cat who likes his own space, but when he wants love, he'll come to you asking for it. Linus enjoys the companionship of other cats, so he'd make a great cat friend for your cat. He is also neutered and up to date on all his core vaccinations and monthly preventatives. If you need a little more 'mood' in your home, Linus is your boy! Come adopt him today! We are the Jefferson County Humane Society and , except for our humane officers (who are paid very nominally), we are all volunteers! Our members were instrumental in getting a local levy passed to build a new and larger shelter and the doors opened in 2011. We are currently participating in Iams Home for the Holidays Program and the Purina Pets for People grant program. We are actively pursuing other grants and recently have been asked by the county to partner with them in the operation of the new shelter. Since we are a humane society, our main focus is on getting animals spayed and neutered so there are no more homeless pets. To that end, we bring in a mobile animal surgical clinic who performs spays and neuters at a reduced rate. We are always looking for volunteers to help us in our efforts and, of course, for financial contributions (we are a non-profit, 501 (c)3) and pet adopters! Other items such as food, treats, pet carriers, cages, leashes, collars, food bowls, etc. are also ALWAYS welcomed and appreciated. Please contact us if you have an item to be donated or would like to volunteer with us to try to save some of these homeless, but very loveable, dogs!
